International training school for captive rearing of freshwater mussels
During summer 2023, an international training school for captive rearing of freshwater mussels is going to take place in Luxemburg and Germany. It is directed to newcomers in the field of freshwater mussel conservation and comprises all working steps for a successful captive breeding program from the selection of populations to monitoring of released mussels integrating an extensive part about possible applications of eDNA in monitoring mussel populations.
International bivalve conference in Hof 2023
Dear bivalve and freshwater friends,
the program of the international conference on the conservation of freshwater bivalves held between 26th-28th April 2023 in the city of Hof, Germany, is available now. The conference focuses on challenges in bivalve conservation related to increasing risk of summer droughts due to climate change and potential target species conflicts. In addition to presentations and discussions, the program will include interesting excursions.
