Federal minister Steffi Lemke visited the Huschermühle, one of the freshwater pearl mussel breeding stations in the project MARA. The project staff informed about challenges and success of freshwater pearl mussel conservation and demonstrated the complicated working steps in pearl mussel breeding. During the meeting, the significance of protection of waters, which is a precondition for successful mussel conservation, was emphasized.
